TeleTech Teams Up with Habitat for Humanity to Renovate School Library

Dona Rosario Elementary Students Experience New Library During Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

MANILA, March 6, 2018 – TeleTech (NASDAQ: TTEC) a global customer experience company that designs, builds and operates captivating omnichannel customer experiences on behalf of the world’s most prestigious and innovative brands, today announced the recent unveiling of the newly renovated library of the Dona Rosario Elementary School. The renovation was completed in partnership between the company and Habitat for Humanity Philippines.

TeleTech partners with organizations to support holistic and sustainable growth in the communities in which they operate. Habitat for Humanity Philippines was on top of the list of community partners for the local TeleTech team because of its global presence and track record in building communities worldwide.

“We are constantly looking for opportunities to give back to the communities in which we operate. And we are very excited to Act as One with Habitat for Humanity in our vision of making a long-term impact to the community,” said Paul Doctolero, Regional Site Lead, TeleTech.

Together, the organizations created “Project Strong,” which aims to support local residents in need through various interventions. The library renovation is the second initiative under Project Strong. The first, a Multi-Purpose Center in Barangay Maricaban, Bantayan Island, Cebu City, is currently under construction.

The Dona Rosario Elementary School library was severely damaged in 2009 when Typhoon Ondoy caused widespread flooding in Manila. All the books, computers, and furniture were rendered useless and completely damaged.

"Our students lost their passion for learning. They relied heavily on the learning materials in school and it deeply affected their morale. Our teachers likewise had to exert extra effort to create an environment conducive to learning despite the devastation. They had to find other sources of reference materials because everything was wiped out" recalls Dr. San Mateo, School Principal. "But now that our library has been restored, our students have once again found their zeal for learning. They love the new look and truly enjoy spending time reading and studying. Thank you to TeleTech and Habitat for Humanity for bringing back the glory of our school!"

Present at the ceremony were school faculty led by Dr. San Mateo, Paul Doctolero, TeleTech volunteers, the Habitat for Humanity Philippines team led by their Managing Director Mike Meaney, and the excited students of Dona Rosario Elementary School.

“It is my hope that this library will be a valued addition in building a stronger community here in Dona Rosario. I also trust that the children take care of this library and start initiatives that will further improve their communities,” said Meaney.
